Dragon Boat Races

Last year for the first time, as far as I know, there were dragon boat races on the lake if front of our house. The races are to benefit charities, one of which is breast cancer. You will notice a drummer on the left end. He beats the drum for the paddlers to keep their rhythm. Last year we were away during the races. This year our ladies are going on an overnight during the races. Paul could take pics, except that I will take the camera with me. This pic was taken during a practice. If it is a good day, I suspect that our yard will be covered with spectators. As you can see, this was taken on a dreary, rainy day. It doesn't stop the dragon boaters! It is kind of fun to hear the drums beating even in the house.

This is a different view of the lake from the other side. You can see our house just left of center next to the apartment building. This is as close as you are going to get until I can post "before" and "after" pics. The house is white with "baby blue" just as it was in 1982 when we first saw it. Right now there is no front porch, due to solving our mold problem. (One of my greatest pleasures, is sitting on the porch with a cup of tea and my Bible. I am trying to be patient!) I have great plans for the house, when time and at least a little $$ permit. When this happens, it will be the cutest house on the lake!
