What a great parade! They don't do things like that in CA -- they USED to. I remember taking the kids to Lafayette for patriotic parades -- but no more -- so sad! I did not realize you all were moving, too -- wow -- what a process for you! I'm sure it's sad to see the "farm" go -- but nice to have a new house and lots of good memories. I love all your pictures!
Remember the Saint John parades with the bag pipes? We passed up the big July 4th parade in Chetek. It was too hot! Anyway we were still at church. It started a 12 noon.

"If you would find the men who serve God the best, you must look for the men of the most faith. Little faith will save a man, but little faith cannot do great things for God." It is judicious for parents to cultivate a love of flowers in their children from their earliest years, as flowers have a refining influence, and never lead astray but always upward. –The Old Farmer’s Almanac, 1893
