OUR FLOOD TOUR

This has been a very rough spring for many people in New Brunswick because of the worst flooding since 1973. Yesterday we took a little flood tour while we were at the farm. It was a drizzly day, not a good one for gardening or other outdoor activities. We did not go to the hardest hit areas, but we saw plenty of flooding any way. We drove through water on the road here...s-l-o-w-l-y!

Those trees aren't usually growing in water!

The wharf in Hatfield Point is not visible now. The road leads into the water.

The sign reads "Ferry Down for Service."

The ferry landing on the other side of the bay

It must be hard to get home to this house.

This one isn't as far from land, but too wet for any body's home.
This one is a cottage. There is no government assistance for cottages.

The bay and the street run together in Hatfield Point.

The sign said the road was impassable, but we had to see for ourselves. It was obvious that others had tried the same thing and then found another way to get across the water!
