Yesterday the phone woke me out of a dead sleep at 6 AM (that's 5 AM according to my body time! We never adjust well to DLS time!). It was LIFELINE telling me that my neighbor, Mary, was sick and needed me. I quickly dressed and ran across the street not knowing what I would find. Mary will be 90 at the end of this month and still lives alone with her two cats!
What I found was Mary lying on the floor, unable to get up! She tripped and fell down breaking her right hip and hurting her arm! This is the second time I have raced over there to find her on the floor with a broken hip. That was December 2006! Between then and now, there have been many other situations!
Poor Mary is waiting for surgery! She is on pain killers which do a number on her, so she was very confused today! For now anyway, we can be sure that she is being well cared for! These last months have been an emotional roller coaster for everyone involved. Her lawyer assured me today that she will not be going home again...but the final chapter has not been written!

Sorry to hear about Mary,
We both knew it was just a matter of time. I know you had a great concern something like this would happen to Mary.
Like you say, it must has been quite experience going over there at 5:00am
not knowing what you were going to see. God bless you giving you that courage and strength going to help Mary.
Gord and I got the terrible flu again I'm doing pretty good today, Gord is not. Keep him in pray.
