My Friend Karen

A few weeks ago, I received an invitation from my friend, Karen, to a gathering of her friends at her home on a Saturday afternoon. I called to thank her for the invitation and to let her know that I could not attend. I am sure that she realized that, since I live almost 2000 miles away, but it was kind of her to think of me! We have many mutual friends, so I asked her to greet anyone that I know and to have a nice time without me! Today I received a package in the mail from Karen. (This is not unusual because she always remembers me at Christmas and on my birthday!) The package was filled with goodies from her party. I don't know if everyone received all these gifts, or if I am special because I couldn't be there.
