KITCHEN CHAIRS

For years we have had four very nice pressed backed chairs in various stages of refinishing.
One (below on the right) was refinished, one was partially stripped and two had not been touched. Recently I bought dull, black paint for them.

We haven't decided for sure that I will paint the one on the right.
Paul went to all the tedious work of refinishing it, but he decided he didn't care to tackle the others. That is why he thought the paint job was a good idea.

I painted, sanded to distress and show wear and then applied a paste wax.
Normally we are not in favor of painting good wood, but, if I do say so myself,
this looks really nice. We talked with the owner of an antique shop who does this.
She said it may be a shame to do it, but it is what sells!

Now I have a few more chair pads to hook.
They don't take too, too long and I can do it in the car while we travel.
Now if we could only go to the farm...
that would be my hooking time!

They look great, Gail! Maybe I should try that with my table and chairs. I am not too excited with the oak finish.
