On Boxing Day, Dec 26, we took off for a little Maine adventure and get-away time. We had a great time shopping at Marden's and other places in Bangor. We had an interesting visit at a church there on Sunday morning! Then we traveled to the Presque Isle and Caribou area where we had visited quite a few years ago. We especially wanted to visit a Scandinavian shop in Caribou. However, on Sunday night Paul became sick, really sick with the flu. We wondered at first if it was food poisoning, but decided against that when I got the same bug on Wednesday! We even stayed an extra day. I am sure Paul did not feel like traveling on Tuesday, but he kindly took me to find the Scandinavian shop. We bought the cute place mats that you see above. It was a really, really GREAT shop. I guess I was so enthralled that I didn't think of taking pics. Their web site doesn't do the shop justice. I will just have to go again. I am sure it has been at least 15 years since the last time. They were even out of business for 8 years and now are in a larger, nicer shop. Maybe if one of my sisters came for a visit, we could take an adventure trip there. But it isn't by the water, so that is a drawback!
