No problem! I've washed dishes with very little light before. This time with a flash light.
The above pic is of how Golden Tassies are supposed to look.
The sad story is that there was a batch in the oven when the power went off.
I left them there because they were not done baking.
Then I ran around with the flash light turning off what I remembered had been on.
HOWEVER...
I didn't remember the oven. I woke with a START this morning.

Oh dear! Reminds me of the time I turned the oven to broil instead of bake...my chocolate chip cookies had a similar black look! I don't have that stove/oven anymore. Makes me ready to make pecan tassies! I hope your cookie exchange went well! Our exchange last year didn't go so well...four or five people brought store bought cookies. We tabled the cookie exchange this year. Sigh!
Hi - I've burned plenty of cookies in my time. I usually forget about the last batch. I am doing a cookie exchange at work tomorrow. I made thumb print cookies and chocolate crinkles. I wanted to make Golden Tassies but I found out that I was out of pecans!!! Now I wish that I had made them (I could have gone to the store:). Tonight was Awana, though, and I didn't have time. Love you!
I can burn a good batch without the lights going off. The last time I burned something in the oven I had my sink overflow, too. From the comments, I think the Carlson genes must have a "burn factor."
Humm! Maybe the Carlsons do more baking than the average... Ever think of it that way?
