We went to the country for a funeral (which I will write about in the next post). The man who died was the brother of very dear friends of ours. Since we wanted to go to the visitation as well as the funeral, we stayed overnight at the farm. Today I was remembering that last year I had taken all the dishes and silverware out of cupboards where creatures roam starting in the fall and into a "creature free" cupboard. Just as I was remembering this and wondering when I could do it again, I opened the big spoon drawer. Then I said, "Eek," and danced around a bit because
there was a MOUSE IN THE DRAWER!!!
THEN I discovered not only was there a mouse
BUT A NEST OF BABY MICE IN MY SILVERWARE DRAWER!!!

Oh dear! Sara will never bring her babies to visit us again! Of course if the boys were here, they would probably help Grampa put the babies into a cage and watch them grow.

Mrs. F, I love you very much, but that is FREAKING ME OUT!! I love your farm, and think of myself as a farm girl. I have been to the farm, but I can't deal with that. =) Miss you.

Not me - I'd come again in a heartbeat. We can wash spoons and forks!! I don't blame you for not wanting them in the house though. They definitely belong OUTSIDE.
I love seeing the pictures of the farm!
Eeew! "I am afraid I am not very good around reptiles..." and little fuzzy mice...tiny, small, medium, or large...they are not visitors I wish to entertain! I almost grabbed a log a couple weeks ago where a snake was sunning himself. This past week we came upon two mice...one dead and one who didn't seem too well.
