Last week we drove down to
Windcrest early in the morning so that Paul could attend the Men's Retreat. We were so excited that the Balloon Fiesta was on and that balloons were up when we drove past Sussex.

We have always missed the balloons in the past for one reason or another. We had gone when it was too windy for the balloons to go up.

This was a BEAUTIFUL DAY!

So.......
We stayed overnight at the farm,
got up early on Saturday morning
and saw the balloons again!

This time we chased the balloons along with a bunch of other people.
There was a newspaper photographer who laid right down in the wet grass.
We were not quite that dedicated.

There are
lots of balloon pics,
making up for all the years we missed!
Paul probably has some even better ones because Andy gave him a really good camera when we visited him. So I guess that makes
"our" camera
"my" camera. I was the one who used it 90% of the time anyway!

Here they are giving people the experience of going up a few feet in a balloon and coming right back down. We heard it costs almost $160 to actually go up in a balloon.
I am sure it would be an incredible experience...
but not for me!

These balloons are coming down.

Going...

going...

gone!
Notice how bundled up this family is. It was that cold!We had a breakfast sandwich and coffee/tea at our favourite Sussex stop: Mrs.
Dunster's. You get a free donut with coffee or tea. Their whole wheat donuts are delicious
altho they are not as big as they used to be. That is probably Mrs. D's answer to the obesity problem. ;)

After chasing the balloons, we wanted to get back on the highway.
This is a NB on ramp!???
