Promoted to GLORY!

A few days ago we received an e-mail telling about a pastor who we have known for years who was "Promoted to Glory!" This man had served the Lord for years and there is not any question about where he is today. This announcement was in sharp contrast to recent tragic deaths in our area. People talk about heaven, true Christians talk about GLORY! People grieve over lost lives, true Christians praise God for His will! People hope and wonder, true Christians have a blessed hope, really an assurance, of everlasting life in the presence of the Lord! I must add that the only way this pastor, or anyone else, will make it to heaven, is by accepting God's gift through Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection! Unless we come as sinners in need of salvation, we will miss it. Good people don't go to heaven. Sinners saved by the blood of Jesus Christ do!

Over 50 years ago now, my father was killed in a plane crash along with two other men. He left my mom with four children. What a tragedy! We did not think of this as a tragedy, but as God's will to take our daddy home to be with Him for all eternity. How thankful I am for godly parents who lived what they taught and believed in easy times and hard times. As born again Christians, we know that when we leave this earth, we will be with the Lord forever, which is far better. How our hearts grieve for those who are without hope (assurance)! It reminds us that we must be busy telling people these important truths. This is a matter of life and death! It is a matter of eternal significance!
