When we took off on our trip, we didn't know where we were going. We planned to head for the sun, even though we didn't hit real warm weather. It took Dave, Sara and family 20 hours to drive up to New Brunswick. On the way back they stopped over one night. It took us 6 days to travel the same distance!!! Obviously we did lots more stopping than they did. We asked the Lord to direct our steps, and He certainly did. We had some amazing experiences. We did not want a highly commercialized area like Myrtle Beach, but we did want to go to the Carolina coast. We ended up at

| It was too cold for the outdoor pool. |
 |
| The beach was just outside our window & balcony. |
 |
| We could hear the waves, night & day. |

| We walked the beach. |

| We had some beautiful weather. |
 |
| Not many people were there. |

| It was lovely! |

I'd go back in a minute!
There was an indoor pool, a microwave & fridge, and a satisfying continental breakfast.
That bridge to the island was a little scary. I thought we would be used to it by the end of the week, but we weren't. It was one lane each way, with not a lot of room. The barriers on the sides were not very high. This seemed to be common in the area. It also humped up in the middle. Oh well, it was an adventure! |
