We just heard that the
premier of New Brunswick has announced that some of our ferry boats are being taken off their runs. The ferries have been a continuation of the highway system and therefore are free. This is the
Belleisle ferry, which is not far from our farm. We do not use it to get to the farm but we love to travel on it whenever we can. You can be sure there will be petitions to sign out in that area and I, for one, will put down my X in protest! The ferries are part of the charm of the area. I am not up for another disappointing change! Boohoo!!!! :(
Here is the reaction:

I hate to burst your bubble ~ but it's quite another story when you do have to depend on them to get home. I for one am game for roads being built to these remote areas. We lived on Kingston Peninsula and missed plenty of church services, nursery duty, Joy Club, etc because of brake downs, ice pans, etc... :s
There are roads which go miles and miles out of the way and take MUCH more time. They can't build bridges over these waterways and the ferries are a great help as well as part of the charm of NB!
